"I think dyeing my hair adds intrigue to my look," Trinity Levins says. "I want to be interested when I look at myself in the mirror, and I want other people to be able to identify me." The Beaumont freshman has been dyeing her hair since she was 13 years old after watching one of her favorite YouTubers. "I wanted a cute color for summer because we weren't allowed to have colorful hair at school because of the dress code," Trinity says. "Dyeing my hair has improved my confidence and affected how I see myself. I think I am a colorful person, and thus I want to have colorful hair." The English major says she would always be sad to dye her hair back to a "normal" color when school started again. "I felt I had to dull my sparkle so I wouldn't get in trouble at school for having colorful hair," she says. Trinity's hair is an extension of her expression, and changing her hair reflects different times in her life. Trinity has grown up a lot since she started dyeing her hair and her current blue streak represents her new life as a freshman and a new chapter in her life. "It helps me express myself visually and makes me happy to look in the mirror," she says.
