Winter Gala

winter gala - Jan. 30 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Setzer Student Center. The Winter Gala, hosted by the Cardinal Activities Board, kicks off the campus student social calendar of the semester and will take place on Jan. 30 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Setzer Student Center.

The event will include live music, a DJ, a full dinner buffet, multiple photo opportunities and a best-dressed contest. There will also be a red carpet for guests to walk down and a dance routine from Lamar’s Cardinal Belles.

Junior Christopher Love from Cleveland, Mississippi is a student coordinator and planner for the event and said there are many opportunities for students to have fun.

“I am most looking forward to the music,” he said. “We will have a live artist performing during the first half of the event, which adds a unique and exciting element to the overall experience.”

Dan Radin is the live artist, and he will be playing the cello during the dinner portion of the event. Guests may make song requests, according to Coordinator for Student Engagement Hayden Jackson.

“As the CAB advisor, I help bring their vision to life for the event,” Jackson said. “I do the booking of vendors, place the orders for food and decor and make the reservations for the space.”

According to CAB supervisor and Fort Worth sophomore Adriana Houston, preparations for this event have long been in the works.

“We've officially started preparing in the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester, but the whole CAB team and staff, including myself, have been talking about the Winter Gala since Spring 2025,” Houston said. “We are all really excited for this event.”
