SSC Chick fil A releases statement on shortages, closures

The Chick Fil A in the Setzer Student Center has been experiencing labor shortages, driver shortages and power outages that has caused inavailiablity of some menu items and temporary closures. 

A shortage of drivers caused a shortage of fries on Sept. 7, Christopher Howard, Lamar University Chartwells director of retail said via phone call. Howard said the supply of fries at the location was then replenished on the morning of Sept. 8 , Christopher Howard, Lamar University Chartwells director of retail said via phone call. 

The location also had to close due to a temporary power outage Sept. 10 , Krystal Andrepont, Lamar University Chartwells marketing manager said. 

Howard later said that Chick Fil A had four seperate power outages Sept. 10, prompting the closure. The power issues are ongoing as there was an additional outage as of Sept. 10 at 1:16 p.m. and Chartwells is working with Lamar University maintenance and an outside electrician to resolves the issue. 

"Our company response is to please be patient with us as we experience industry wide labor shortages and are temporarily short staffed," Andrepont also said in a statement sent via email. 

Andrepont said Chartwells will be now displaying signs at dining locations on campus regarding labor shortages and supply chain issues.
