"Rock climbing is wonderfully amazing," Addy Adeyemo says. "The rock wall is like a full body work-out." The Lagos, Nigeria junior started rock climbing at the age of six. She says she was never afraid to climb, even when she first started. There are few mountains to climb in Beaumont, but when she is not in her corporate communications classes, Addy uses her spare time to enhance her techniques on the rock wall in the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center. "It gives me all the thrill I need," she says. "There are different routes on the wall which are marked by colored tape for certain levels of difficulty." During the summer, she was asked to name a route up the wall. She called it "Tinkerbell." "I always make it to the top of the wall — each and every time I climb," she says.
