"The best thing is, you always have somebody there," Shanesha Seals says as she looks at her twin Tranesha. "The worst thing is, you get tired of being around that person for so long." She adds, "And, when you go to the store you have to double the price of what you want, because she'll want the same thing." Even though they are only five minutes apart in age, the Houston natives definitely hold to the older sibling, younger sibling stereotypes. "I have a lot of responsibility I take on," Shanesha says. "It seems like I'm the leader." And as if to prove the point, she says, "The baby...," and Tranesha immediately interjects, "That's what they call me – ‘Baby-Girl.'" An interview with the pair is like interviewing one person, each overlapping the other's speech. Ironically, or perhaps fittingly, the twins are both double majors — Shanesha in dance and psychology and Tranesha in dance and pre-pharmacy. The pair flaunt their individuality through fashion."I like to be fun and playful," Tranesha says, "A poofy pink dress, that's my style." Shanesha counters, "I like everything to be classy and to bend the rules just a little to be sexy." Even with wardrobe clues, the differences aren't easy to spot. "We're closer than close," Shanesha says. "The connection is like no other," Baby-Girl adds.
