‘Hugo’ leads nominees with 11

Martin Scorsese's 3D film  "Hugo" received 11 nominations.  Michel Hazanavicius's "The Artist" was nominated for 10.

"Moneyball" and "War Horse" received six nominations. "The Descendants" were nominated for five, and "The Help" was earned four nominations, including two in the supporting actress category.

The nine films nominated for Best Picture are "The Artist," "The Descendants," "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," "The Help," "Hugo," "Midnight in Paris," "Moneyball," "The Tree of Life" and "War Horse."
